Main activity / responsibility
The Logistics & Customer Service Manager is responsible for having oversight of the day to day planning of all orders and modes (vessel, barge, rail and road) as well as for all aspects related to inventory management. He/she is the focal point and primary go to person for resolution of all day to day planning and inventory related issues.
The Logistics Supervisor:
. Interacts with vessel agents, independent surveyors and loss control representatives for updates and any required services.
. Is available to all customers for any operational needs or conflict resolutions that might be required. Handles customer complaints and provides follow-up communication about problem resolution measures.
. Identifies and implements introduction to best practices. Oversees management reporting tools that provide monitoring of (internal as well as external) Metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
. Briefs with Operations Manager regarding special needs/requirements (maintenance, repairs, abnormal service needs from customer).
. Co-Ordinates dock and pipeline schedules to accommodate engineering or maintenance requests.
. Oversees all stock accounting procedures and inventory controls to maintain contractual agreement with customers and prevent product contamination/loss.
. Manages month end closing process to facilitate timely transfer of information to customers for their closing process.
. Manages month end closing process to facilitate timely transfer of information to accounting for monthly contractual billing as well as miscellaneous service charges.
. To process the documents required by Customs etc.
. To work closely with Accounts Manager to process and monitor the invoices to ensure accurate and timely payment.
Requirement
. Degree with 5 to 10 years experience in operation and logistics management in similar branch or activities
. Good interpersonal skills
. Good negotiation skill |
